JAPAN FUNDRAISER CLASS - FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2025 @ 5:00-6:30PM PST
After reuniting with my friend Naoko during our Kyoto, Japan Yoga Retreat in November… She, Japan and all of my new friends there have my heart! I am now forever connected to the beautiful country of Japan and the kindness of all of the local friends made. I look forward to returning soon.
In January 2024 a devastating earthquake struck the Ishikawa Prefecture. The community there is working to rebuild, many are still left without their homes. My new friend, Sacco who is an incredible yoga teacher offers free community classes to those who need the support there. We want to do more to help!
Please join me, my girl Naoko and my new friends Sacco, Eriko, Yuki and Minako (all ind Japan) for an evening of yoga for a cause. Embrace the multicultural styles and languages as some will teach in Japanese and others in English!
Any donation big or small to help this community is your ticket into this class!
Our suggested local organization to donate to is -> PEACE BOAT Disaster Relief (using Google Chrome, you can translate to English)

#MAUISTRONG FUNDRAISER FLOW – SUNDAY, AUGUST 20, 2023 @ 8:00-9:00AM
After a wonderful summer living in Maui, I sit here back in California with mixed emotions – Grateful that my family is here, safe from the Maui wildfires yet overwhelmed with sadness for my friends, neighbors and community still there who now have a long road ahead of them.
As some of you may know, I have a deep connection to Maui – it’s my happy place, my place of reset, comfort and the place my kids and family consider our second home. If any of you have ever been to Maui, you can understand what a special, magical place it is. I am thankful that my Kihei community and neighbors are safe from the fire that was just across the highway, but I can’t even begin to imagine the immense loss that others are suffering.
I’ve felt so helpless as I watch the news, read daily updates and text with friends there. I’ve also decided that now is not the time to just feel all the emotions – It’s the time to put my overwhelming emotions into action.
I hope you can join me in supporting Maui by attending my donation based Vinyasa Flow class. If you’ve ever benefited from the beauty and magic of Maui or ever hope to visit someday, now is the time to support (no amount is too small)!
Anuja and Ron at Almaden Yoga have graciously allowed me to hold this donation based class at the studio and my only request is that you donate to one of the foundations below. You can donate ahead of time at any of the organization links below or you can drop some cash into the box at the front desk and I will make the donation after class.
Mahalo for supporting a community so close to my heart!
With love always,
Ashley

ALIGN & REFINE: PERSONALIZING YOUR LIFELONG PRACTICE
An Exploration of Modifications, Alignment and Transitions
Co-Hosted with Spencer Dong at Almaden Yoga
Sunday, April 28th 9:15-11:30am – Grounded (both feet or hands and feet on the floor type poses)
Sunday, May 5th 9:15-11:30am – Balance (let’s play with balancing poses)
Have you ever been in a class and wondered… Is there a modification to this pose? Or thought, I think I’m doing this safely but I’m not sure. Or that transition looks fun, but where do I even start? There’s often not enough time in a class setting to have all your questions answered or to practice in a workshop style where you can play around.
Join Ashley Curran and Spencer Dong for two workshops of exploration! Let’s practice together, talk about alignment, modifications (both up leveling and down leveling), transitions and how to cultivate your yoga practice to last a lifetime! You can expect to leave the workshop with a better understanding of cues from teachers in your daily classes and how to move in a way that inspires you to return to the mat for years to come!
Each workshop will consist of a 60 minute flow class led by Ashley, followed by a summary of five highlighted poses within the class. We’ll spend the remainder of time exploring the five highlighted poses with their alignment, modifications, fun transitions and how to keep your practice alive and well for years to come!
Ashley’s brother, Spencer Dong has his Doctorate in Physical Therapy practicing in outpatient orthopedics. His passion lives in injury prevention, training, and rehabilitation. He enjoys educating and inspiring people towards lifelong physical activities.
